Gabriel Wickbold is a photographic artist based in São Paulo, Brazil. His experimentation with the interactions between paint, natural objects, string and more with the body led to a the creation of a now well renowned set of photographs bursting with color and sexuality. Part of the success of his work stems from the fact that some of the people that agreed to model for Wickbold included Brazilian television stars such as Adriane Galisteu, Didi Wagner, Fernanda Paes Leme, Adriana Bombom and Daniela Albuquerque.
His photographs redefine the portrait. They remove the facial distinctions of the individual and bring into play a more generalized human form that is thus transformed into art. His creative process includes providing very calmed and relaxing atmospheres in the rooms in which he produces his work. This shines through in his finished products as his models, despite being in debatably uncomfortable situations, elicit and overwhelming feeling of relaxation and comfort within their portraits.
